Slewing Tracked Dumpers take all the benefits of a standard tracked dumper a step further. Because they can slew (the upper structure rotates 360 degrees on the tracks) there is almost no need to reverse the machine – this offers huge safety benefits but also environmental benefits – the driver can always see exactly where they are going – which is particularly useful in softer terrain. Slewing machines don’t need to spragg to turn round which again saves cutting up the ground. There is also less wear in the tracks because the machine doesn’t have to turn using the tracks. They are particularly useful on confined sites such as tunnels and on riverbanks where the operator may not have space to turn – or where turning increases risk (again on riverbanks).
